Safer Internet Day - 10th February 2026
At Noak Bridge Primary we aim to create a safe and supportive online environment for our children, and this special day is a cornerstone in our ongoing efforts. The activities were designed not only to educate our students about the importance of online safety but also to engage them in practical, enjoyable ways. Children discussed staying safe online, using kind and respectful words, and speaking to a trusted adult if they see something worrying.
This year, one of the standout activities was the screen saver competition, in which children took part enthusiastically. The competition encouraged our students to think creatively about what online safety means to them, translating these ideas into vibrant artwork. These creations are more than just colourful displays; they are a reflection of our children's understanding of the need for a secure online world. We are proud of their thoughtful and imaginative contributions. The winners of the competition were: Beauie, Evelyn and Lola from Year 5, their online safety poster is now the screen saver for all computers in out IT suite.

Please talk with your child about passwords, not sharing personal information, and what to do if they receive messages that make them feel uncomfortable.

Tag Rugby tournament
On Tuesday 2nd December we went to James Hornsby for a tag rugby tournament. When we arrived, we met our opponents (Janet Duke, Phoenix and Merrylands) who were all strong tag rugby teams.
Firstly, we played Janet Duke, who are one of the best regional squads, where we unfortunately lost 9-1. We had some amazing defence and made two turnovers, where one team gets five tags on the other and must hand over the ball, as well as four tags twice. The try we scored was by Layla who had an excellent set up from Erin.
In the second match against Merrylands, we tied 3-3 but we thought we could have done better due to an unlucky slip on the mud from our team. George scored two extraordinary tries one of them beautifully assisted by Jude. The other from going to the corners and pushing up forward. Erin scored the third try to equalize the score with an excellent run. In terms of defence, we were a bit worse than our first game, but we still did alright.
Finally, we played against Phoenix and unfortunately lost 2-1 because they had very fast runners. Naisha scored the try of the match with some amazing moves against the opposing defenders and a great pass from Peter. Our defence was okay this game and we were proud to have tagged the faster runners.

Football Competition
On the 11th of November at Billericay Football stadium, 3 brave year 5’s and 4 brave year 6’s went on a journey to compete against the best small schools in Essex.
When we got there, we came all into a circle to learn of the fixtures. In the first game, we went against the tough greens (we can’t remember the name). When the game started, the greens took the lead and made it 1-0. Our goalkeeper, called Sonny, tried his best to save the goal but sadly, they scored again to make it 2-0. This was a sad moment for all of us, but we would not give up.
The next game was against the blues (again I can’t remember the name). The game started with them getting a lucky goal to open the scoring. We tried with all our might but failed and conceded again. But the dream wasn’t over: Joey passed to Eli and then he scored with a magnificent finish. We attacked once more, Joey passed again to Eli. And yes, we scored again to make it 2-2. But the dream still wasn’t over. The ball fell to Eli and he scored again. No one could believe it as we had come back from 2-0 down.
The last game was the hardest. (We remember the name) we were against St. Joseph’s. Sonny our goalkeeper saved about 10 shots to save us from loosing 3 or 4-0 and we got a good draw as it was 0-0. But sadly, we didn’t qualify because they won all their matches and we lost one.

Football Competition
On Tuesday 11th November 2025 we went to a football tournament at Billericay stadium.
On the first match we lost 2-0 but we were just warming up , on the second game we won 3-2 Eli scored a hattrick from 2-0 down , On the final game we played the strongest team in our group and we drew 0-0 it was a tough game but we played great because that team had won every other game.
Sonny (GK) pulled off some amazing saves in goal, if we didn't have him we would have 100% lost every game ( He definitely was man of the matches) :)
The defenders (Josh and Konrad) were solid in the back, making some great tackles and kicking the ball up the lines.
The midfielders and wingers (Alex Spicer, Alex Salmon on wings , and Edward in centre midfield) Made some amazing shots at goal and some great crosses into the box from the wingers.
The striker (Eli) made amazing goals on the second game and also had some great shots. From 2-0 down, its amazing to score a hattrick to win!
Overall , it was an amazing performance from every one, sadly we were out in the group stages finishing in 3rd.
From Eli and Josh, Year 5.

Anti-bullying Week 2025

WHAT IS ANTI-BULLYING WEEK? WHY IS IT NEEDED?
This week Noak Bridge celebrated Anti-Bullying Week 2025.
Anti-Bullying Week is an annual UK event, held in the third week in November which aims to raise awareness of bullying of children and young people, in schools and elsewhere, and to highlight ways of preventing and responding to it. It started in 2002 and has since grown to become a significant event in the calendars of children, families and schools with an estimated 80% of schools in the UK taking part.
Anti-bullying week from the 10th November started with a colourful display of 'odd socks'.
Odd Socks Day forms part of our Anti-Bullying Week campaign and takes place on the Monday of Anti-Bullying Week. Fronted by the Anti-Bullying Alliance patron and CBeebies presenter, Andy Day and his band Andy and the Odd Socks, millions of children and adults go to school or work in odd socks to highlight what makes us all unique and help prevent bullying.
There is no pressure on the children to wear the latest fashion or for parents to buy expensive costumes. All they have to do to take part is wear odd socks to school, it couldn’t be simpler! Each year Andy and the Odd Socks write a toe tapping song around the Anti-Bullying Week theme.
This year's theme is 'Power for Good'.
That’s why, this Anti-Bullying Week, we’re empowering young people to use their Power for Good to safely speak up, support others, show kindness and raise awareness when they see bullying, face to face or online to make a positive difference. It was an opportunity to remind children that every one of us holds power and influence and it matters how we choose to use it.
Lasting change needs all of us. From playgrounds to parliament, our homes to our phones — we all have a part to play.
Together, we can use our Power for Good to end bullying - for good.

World Mental Health Day

On Friday 10th October, we joined people across the world to celebrate World Mental Health Day and we wore yellow.
In the afternoon we joined a live webinar from 'Amazing People Schools' led by premier female footballer Lucy Staniforth who brought teamwork and wellbeing to life this World Mental Health Day.
The questions and energy from the children showed what “Together we are Stronger” really means.
Things we learnt from Lucy today:
- One of the best things about being in a team is working together to achieve something.
- Sometimes it can feel hard to know where you belong in a team or a group but it’s important to remember that your difference is what’s great about you. Always be yourself.
- Always try and help others settle into your group and help them feel like they belong – with a smile or a joke!
- After negative or disappointing experiences remember what your super strengths are and take the time to think about the things you can work on.
