Parents and Friends Association (PFA)
The PFA Committee offers a very warm welcome to the lovely Noak Bridge Primary School community.
We wanted to introduce ourselves, explain what the PFA is all about, why we do what we do, and provide you with some useful information.
So, what is the PFA?
We are a group of six parents who have been voted in by parents and friends of the school to form the Parents & Friends Association. Although the committee has no direct links to the school, we work closely with them to ensure that events and spend are aligned and run smoothly. The PFA holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year to showcase what has been accomplished during that year, highlight financials (raised and spent), and finally, the PFA step down to allow the new committee to be formed for the next year.
PFA commitment
It is to raise funds for the students of Noak Bridge Primary School and help provide equipment and events. We have hosted a variety of fundraising events including pop-up gift shops, fairs, and discos. The PFA have recently achieved a ‘registered Charity’ status. Please get in touch if you believe your place of work may be able to donate to our charity through Match Funding schemes. There are a surprising large number of companies that provide employees with match funding initiatives. Please enquire with your HR as this could be a huge fundraiser for us!
Achievements so far
The reason behind our efforts is simple: without the PFA, the students wouldn’t get the fun events that they love. Although it can be challenging at times, it is extremely rewarding to see the students and families enjoying themselves. We have funded a Christmas theatre company to perform an in-house pantomime, Dick Whittington, bought an outdoor learning reading shed for all years to enjoy and learn, a preloved uniform shop, bought instruments for the school choir to play at their external concerts and SATS breakfasts for Year 6 students.
Download the Classlist App
By preparing yourselves in advance through our various means of communication, such as social media and downloading the Classlist App it will all be a huge help. Certain events such as discos are prepaid and will need to be booked using the safe and secure ‘Classlist’ App.
Helping Hands
Our PFA thrives with the support of its parents. You don’t need to join the PFA to help us. We would love your support, especially by offering to help during the larger events, it will make them run much more smoothly with more assistance. Please consider joining our Helping Hands Group? A WhatsApp Group where you can donate your time or be a class year representative all without having to join the PFA. Please get in touch for further details, via email to noakbridgepfa@outlook.com or go to the QR code above to join the group.

Dashboard PFA information and new polices
The PFA committee have recently reviewed some policies, which the committee has signed a copy of; you are welcome to view the signed copies on request. There are a few points we would particularly like to draw your attention to:
- "Any parent or guardian of a pupil at Noak Bridge Primary School, as well as all school staff, are considered PFA members" (Code of Conduct). This means that, even if you are not on the PFA committee, you are nevertheless a member of the PFA and these policies apply to all members.
- "Members will be respectful of each other, the association and the school when using social media. Grievances between the committee, association and school should be discussed with relevant persons rather than through social media platforms" (Code of Conduct). Please note: WhatsApp is included in this definition of social media.
- The events put on by the PFA are PFA events, not school events. Please contact the PFA with any comments about them.
- If you buy a ticket for a PFA event via Classlist, you will be offered a chance to tell the PFA anything relevant that they need to know about your child. Please do use this to inform us of anything in particular we need to be aware of for the event to run smoothly.
- If you wish to contact the PFA with queries or comments about events, or to make a complaint, the email address is: noakbridgepfa@outlook.com
We look forward to working together to create memorable and enriching experiences for our children.
